Salone del Mobile 2017 | Workplace

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The third part of the Salone del Mobile posts is ready for your eyes at last! And this time it’s all about workplaces! It was a special section this year with Euroluce. As in our studio we have a lot of projects about office renovations imagine our enthusiasm when we found it out…It was very very interesting and we left with a lot of extra knowledge, company contacts and inspiration.
The sad thing is that in Greece now it’s quite difficult to apply or even propose(!) that avant-garde of technology but even though it’s more than good to know all these stuff.

So, at the first group of photos I have 2 big companies, Fantoni and La Palma, that impressed as a lot. With Vitra (that I missed to take photos unfortunately) had the most minimal and with elegance design without leaving out the technology and funcionality. I saw desks that you can load your preferences (from high, chair settings, lighting brightness, temperature and I don’t remember what else!) and customize them as you like, so when you change working place you can load all of them to another desk and feel like yours immediately!
Also, there is a photo from the installation A Joyful sense at work. Its purpose  is to breathe new life into the theory of office and workplace design by setting its sights squarely on people, in terms of their needs, emotions and experiences.
According to it, the workplace of the future will be adaptive, unfinished, vibrant and evolutionary, tailored to reality and capable of accommodating the comings and goings and needs of the workers and the way in which they use it. It will be smart, fast-paced, flexible, evolutionary and contemporary: human beings will be the key focus in a fast-changing environment. It will be happy, nourishing, fertile and sustainable – both environmentally and ethically, in terms of respect for people’s feelings, history, culture, diversity and rights.

Continuing with seating! In this area you can have countless choices…our favorite is Quinti and arper, with which we collaborate already and we are super happy. We love them and you can see why! Also, Andreu World had a very interesting booth design. I loved the velvet fabrics of Quinti, and even more in these dark colors, and the minimal design and elegance of arper.

We saw a lot of interesting alternatives of beautiful and contemporary workstations and shared break areas. Workplaces are cooler than ever! Some of the companies I distinguished were True, Estel, Nowy Styl Group. Sound absorbing separators, cable management, technologies, flexible break areas, organisation of working surface are some of the features that made you wanna work there! (Give me some work to do!…ok almost…)

Another characteristic was greenery! As a decorative element or as a recycling result on furniture and surfaces. As people spend more and more time at offices it’s necessary to bring nature inside and go on board with a more earth friendly style. Also I noticed a trend to offer workplaces beyond the ordinary, always have something to intrigue your imagination. Officine Tamborino, Sesta are two of them.

Last but not least, 3 companies that caught my attention: Montana, Florim and Unifor. For their design, for their products and their booths. Montana had a retro feeling and something that an architect could relate I think. Florim had a very interesting booth, with impressive xlarge surfaces that could cover anything. And very nice decoration with their materials as stationery. Unifor, on the other hand was something else. Their booth almost confusing, but with cool neon phrases on top of the walls and very very impressive tables. Super minimal workstations, desks and meeting tables with the minimum leg support, so that you couldn’t stay untouched.

I’m not sure anyone on this blog would be interested in workplaces but I thought it was mind opening to be there so I wanted to present them all to you! And, of course there were so many more companies that had a lot to say but here we have just a glimpse of the whole of it! Salone del Mobile was a huge experience in general and I hope I can make it again in the future, I hope you enjoyed these posts!

New week – new blog thoughts

working with a viewLately I have a difficulty on posting home offices! Maybe it’s the political developments in Greece that have taken all my thoughts away in general – you just can’t focus in this uncertainty. These days that I was already working from home I always find some reason to get up, clean something, tidy up the house..(and even so it’s a mess again!).
Maybe it’s the summer that got into me and doesn’t let me even think about work..I don’t know. Especially as we go deeper and deeper in my favorite season I don’t feel like working…at all!

I think it’s the combination of these 2 reasons but the second one it’s not gonna change soon (I don’t even want to make assumptions about the first reason!), that’s why I’m reconsidering about monday’s posts. I would like your opinion though. I was thinking of cute patios instead and outdoor spaces in general, or one shot with great design details with irrelevant theme each time, sometimes it could be a dreamy workplace again. Or something else..what do you think?

Home office of the week

workspace vogue livingHello again! I lost my Monday-date with the blog but I’m here today for it. The truth is with all the latest political developments in Greece I don’t have clear thinking to do anything. Not to mention working!! I have a real hard time to focus and some drawings waiting to be done!

However, I’m still trying and that’s why I thought to be inspired by a workspace like every week. This home office has everything I need for this: Rough wooden desk, very simple, design armchairs because we may be simple but our aesthetic can be hidden! Sky blue color on the wall to keep us calm and delightful like the summer sky and some irrelevant statues on the desk and some art posters to keep art and construction on the table! I shouldn’t forget to mention the fantastic sleek and chic grey floor that fits perfectly with the classic carved wooden panels around! Let’s work now…(?)

Office of the week

rafa kids deskWhen did Monday arrive again?! Bring weekend back! Or bring the next weekend now… I imagine, I could compromise with this desk though. I could do some work in such an environment if you insist… This K desk, designed by Rafa-kids is just an eye treat, so chic and delicate, simple enough and very practical! See here for more details, there are no screws or connectors outside, its finish is very smooth and it can be closed or open depending on how you want to use it. I like its multifanctionality. Also, in total white in an environment like that – parisian appartment for example is just perfect! Did you notice the book titles on the surface? Design and Architecture, of course! So, have a smooth Monday and a happy working week! Good morning!

Office of the week

garden officeGood morning everyone! How do you feel this monday, ready for the new week? I’m not! I’d like some more hours of sleeping please… That’s why I chose this workspace today, to cheer me up and inspire me for work. Isn’t it a small paradise? Like you work in the jungle and this is your shady, cool working spot where you can create stuff in peace. Industrial and raw environment but with the element of nature everywhere giving a sensitive touch. Ok, now I’m ready of going out, thankfully it’s a sunny day! Have a nice week!

Office of the week

garden home officeHello there! As I told you this weekend in Greece we had a 3days holiday as yesterday was something like a national holiday. So our week starts on Tuesday! Unfortunately I was working all the 3days of it but it was calm work, in my pace.
Another thing I love is that today I’m actually working from home! So, the “home office” post is accurate for me. I have a huge amount of work to make but I’m very concentrated here and without distractions I’m working much better. I have my balcony in front of me, with my cute plants inspire me when I need it, wearing my pyjamas and I have the fridge near for small attacks!

The above workspace in the photo is in a way close to my situation or at least an improved version of my workspace! B&W, greenary, art and design pieces!

Happy week to all of you!

Office of the week

workspaceGood morning friends and happy Monday! As the weather here is sunny and warm enough and I’m in a relaxing mood (the truth is I’m still working regularly but not like the hectic rythm of last month so it’s still relaxing!) I wanted to post today this exquisite workplace. I love everything in this picture! The colors, the rough texture of the wall, the wooden desk-pay extra attention on the 2 legs of one side and drawers on the other- the chair and of course the rug! Also extra color on the desk with this red lamp and the cute vases with beautiful flowers. My favorite element however is this large b&w picture!! Very imposing, don’t you think? I love b&w photos at home offices, they give an artistic, inspiring touch. Just lovely!

I’m not complaining though because today we have the photoshooting of the new offices we made!! I can’t wait! Happy new week!

Office of the week

coffee needs coffeeGood morning and happy rest of the week! Yesterday I didn’t have the time to post the regular monday’s post about home offices so here it is today 🙂 I feel so tired today that this quote is perfect for me!!! Eventually the project I’m working on haven’t finish yet, this will be the final week, so I keep going in the same rythm!

porch home officeHowever, as I told you I left for the weekend for a small vacation in the country. I had such a great, summery time that filled me with courrage for this week! I’ll come back with photos of course… And that’s why I chose this workspace for today that is in a porch! What a wonderful idea, working not only at home but also in the porch! Have a nice rest of the week!!

Office of the week

home office plantsThis home office  has bring the nature inside! Green plants, green books! A simple mirror on the desk surprise us with some glossiness. Again without computer on the desk! I think I was needed some technology-off time if I take my last office choices seriously and I think I charged my batteries enough this last weekend.
According to the photographer and owner of the workplace it’s used for illustrations and watercolors, full of botany books and plants from Nicaragua, interesting right?
