Weekend!

Summer shady patio via desire to inspire

Good morning this sunny saturday! At last the clouds in Athens left and let us feel the summer again. I don’t know what I’m gonna do today but it’s the first Saturday in months that I don’t have work plans, hooray! I was the first Saturday also that I didn’t put the alarm on, amazing right? A bit of tidying, a bit of laundry, of redecorating the house, of strolls with friends these are my plans for the weekend. Also these are the longest days of the year and I’m always very happy every time for it!
This patio above would be the perfect spot of relax with friends, drinking cold lemonade and eating cherries! Or DIYing with friends while catching up the latest news. DIY project that my blue flamingo proposes today, continuing the pinapple theme: Make your own pineapple night light! Perfect for the outdoor table these summer nights 🙂

Weekend!

creative weekendHello again this weekend! Are you enjoying summer somewhere idyllic or like me continuing the daily routine? Today I will go again for work in the offices I was going every saturday this winter. Like the murderer that returns in the crime scene… I don’t love it but it will be in much cooler rythms so it won’t be very tiring. I work a lot lately, that’s for sure! However I’m in a “creativity trance” situation all this period which I love!! That’s the reason I’m inspired from creativity in a fun way this weekend like the photo above and wish you the same! Let your secret picasso get out and do something like that! If you have kids it will be even funnier I think. Make a piece of art all toghether and have a great weekend! xoxo

For the music lovers I have the best DIY project!!! Paint a ukalele like a pineapple and sing summer songs wearing flower necklaces!!! Totally in the summer mood, right? Even it’s an easy project see here a tutorial.

Weekend!

woods relaxingGood morning, weekend is here! What are your plans for these days? I don’t know for myself yet, I’m going to work for sure but some relaxing is in my thoughts too… The weather these days is really crazy, one moment is hot, shinny etc and 5 minutes later the sky is fully cloudy and you need to put a coat on! And after 5 minutes again the sun is shinning..but 5 minutes after that it may rain! Totally crazy… In my unluckiness I could say I’m lucky I have work to do and I’m not in vacations. (Lie…!) The only truth is I’m daydreaming of being in the situation of the picture above! Relaxing in a hammock somewhere very far from civilization! Happy weekend my friends, with all the luck and misfortune of it!

And the DIY project of the weekend is very simple because I’m in the mood for easy stuff today. Decorate your garden, balcony or whatever you have with these cute and discreet faceted clay tealight holders! See the tutorial here.tealight holder diy

Weekend!

yellow butterflyGood morning and happy weekend! In Greece this Monday is a national holiday so most of us we have a 3day holiday! Unfortunately I won’t enjoy it because I’ll have to work all of it for a new project I got. In fact I was happy that I’d have one day plus free for working at home where I can more productive. Is this serious? Probably…I used to think like that at school, very nerdy of me! Also, the weather in Athens last days is crazy, it’s very cold and cloudy, it helps me to concentrate.

I can always daydreem though that the sun is shinning outside, I’m in a pretty garden lying in a butterfly chair like the photo! I really hope you’ll do something like that this weekend! And if you want to be creative my blue flamingo found for you the cuttest DIY project: Clay cactus garden!! I love it!! See here for more.

Weekend!

yasemiGood morning and happy weekend!!! I’m very cheerful today because it’s the first weekend I woke up while the sun was shinning! At last the weather here started to be milder. Next week also we have our easter so, the mood everywhere is in holiday style. But the most important is that yesterday I went for an afternoon&night stroll, I ate a yummy pizza with one of my best friends and I had a nice time after a loooong time!!! I work so hard the last months that I had forgoten how people are! In my yesterday’s stroll I smelled the sour orange tree’s blossom that always reminds me the jasmin smell and always makes me happy. That’s why I chose this photo for this weekend, some greek spring spirit to cheer us up 🙂

Have a nice weekend, I’m leaving for work again!

Today’s DIY project is something about easter that’s close. Design your easter eggs with symbols by moss!!! See here how…

10 Alternative trees for Christmas

Looking for alternative ways of decorating the christmas tree this year? Are you fed up with the same and same christmas trees every year? You want something more minimal or indirect, even only implying a tree on a wall? Here I gathered my favorite examples of doing so. Some of them are more festive, some more quiet. Most of them are on walls, so you gain some space in the house, if you don’t have plenty. And also, it makes the perfect holiday photo backgroung!

Which one do you prefer?

1.  Print on the wall with garland
Print a photo of a tree you like and tape it on the wall. Then tape a colorful garland in front of it. Add some presents on a table below the tree. Beautiful isn’t it?
See it here
1. Alternative xmas tree_mbf2. Tree of photos
Print some photos of your choice, irrelevant of Christmas spirit, preferably on the same color palette. Washi tape them on the wall. Add some flare with a red flower below. Very discrit and chic!
See it here
2. Alternative xmas tree_mbf3. Painted on a carton
Alternatively you can cover the whole wall with a carton paper and paint the tree on it! You can fix with glue or washi tape a garland, balls, string lights and whatever you think!
See it here
3. Alternative xmas tree_mbf4. Pegged tree with colored cords
A quite funky alternative, don’t you think? It’s very nice idea if there are kids in the house. Cards and ornaments can be added we get closer to holidays. The best of this project is that you don’t ruin your wall, special fixxings are used, see it on the link below.

5. Large print on hanging cloth
Instead of No1 you can print a vivid tree picture on a large cloth and hang it on the wall. On the cloth you can pin any ornaments you want! And above it, you know…the presents!
See it here
5. Alternative xmas tree_mbf6. Tissue paper tree
Again very nice project to make it with kids. You can make also your own garland and decorate it as you please. A whole decoration day, remember to listen to christmas songs as you make it. It’s very easy though and I love the texture that it has, I would touch it all the time!
See it here
6. Alternative xmas tree_mbf7. Christmas tree of branches
More realistic and classic than the others, it has the volume of a real tree but it is monochromatic, and if you keep it in natural colors as in the example it looks very earthy. Like the snow on winter trees.
See it here
7. Alternative xmas tree_mbf8. Only by a garland
Could it be more simple? Yes, with a monochromatic garland, but here is for a kids room, so we need some color. I love the simplicity of this tree and the clear message. Nothing more to show to be a christmas tree. The small rug below and the bunny completes the cute atmosphere!
See it here
8. Alternative xmas tree_mbf9. Branches on the wall
Again single branches but this time nailed on the wall. String lights and ornaments complete the picture. Cozy, christmas spirit and simplicity all together.
See it here
9. Alternative xmas tree_mbf10. The funny christmas tree
What if instead of the classic tree you decorate a cactus! As a kitsch lover in small doses I could totally do this in my home, it could be the coolest christmas tree!

Easter eggs!

easter eggs14

Here in Greece we have a custom for Easter. We paint eggs red and clink them until the strongest egg is the winner! However, there are so many different ways to paint eggs, with style and funny designs! With simple paints, pens, watercolors or anything else… So this year I recommend some of these alternatives that anyone can easily find on DIY sites.

Egg sources: 1. Egg bunnies and friends,  3. Fruity french easter eggs,  4. Thumbprints technique,  5. White paint pen,  6. Neon dip-dyed eggs,  7. Mustache men eggs
