Lilac is one of my favorite flowers. It brings me a lot of loving, nostalgic memories from my childhood, as there was a lilac bush in our backyard where I grew up. Every year on spring, and especially on easter time it used to bloom and I remember myself staring at it and feeling so charmed by these beautiful, purple, tiny flowers! It was the sign for me that spring and thus fun time outside had started, so you can imagine my happiness! That’s why this year I chose this dearest flower to wish you a happy easter, full of love and relaxation!xoxo
PS. In Greece this time we have the worst weather for easter, cold and even snow!! However, I have a small vacation time and nothing can ruin this!!
These days of Easter I was in holidays in Peloponnese. The place where I come from is in Arcadia, centre of Peloponnese, in the mountains. The mountains should be mentioned again because it was so cold!!! We almost had Christmas instead of Easter… The first day it was snowing but thankfully the other days had decent weather to go around.

The first day we went in ancient Olympia where the archeological site of ancient olympic games took place. It was magnificent and very inspiring. The site has 3 sections: the stadium, the sanctuary and the facilities for athletes and travelers. All of these ruins are in an enchanting environment, as you can see in the photos below.

the site of palaestra. Imagine to be trained there
Another day we were fearless and went to explore an abandoned old hospital near our village. It has the rumour that is occupied by ghosts and people are very afraid of it! To tell you the truth, after my visit there I understood why they believe something like that! Apart from that it is a beautiful building, in the mountains, which could be renovated and be something great. If the ghosts allow that…

the old corridor to the rooms of patients. Spooky…
Unfortunately I didn’t have my camera with me and I couldn’t take very nice photos but I think I succeded to transfer the atmosphere there and some of our activities! Except food, which was one of the main activities…but I can’t even watch food right now!
Blue Flamingo wishes you a happy Easter! I hope you’ll have a great time, rest and have fun! The photo refers to what we eat these days, here in Greece…Delicious food and a lot!!!!
PS. As Gabriel Garcia Marquez died yesterday, leaving his magic realism behind as an important legacy and as he was one of my favorite writers I will close with one of his quotes.
“And both of them remained floating in an empty universe where the only everyday and eternal reality was love.”
Here in Greece we have a custom for Easter. We paint eggs red and clink them until the strongest egg is the winner! However, there are so many different ways to paint eggs, with style and funny designs! With simple paints, pens, watercolors or anything else… So this year I recommend some of these alternatives that anyone can easily find on DIY sites.
Egg sources: 1. Egg bunnies and friends, 3. Fruity french easter eggs, 4. Thumbprints technique, 5. White paint pen, 6. Neon dip-dyed eggs, 7. Mustache men eggs
Easter is coming and some relevant patterns may be usefull for crafts or anything else..!
